The Wellness Recovery Center

The Wellness Recovery Center is a 14 bed, short term. residential crisis stabilization program for

adults experiencing an acute mental health crisis. The program is staffed by a multi-disciplinary team of professionals who provide person-centered, recovery based support in a safe. comfortable, peaceful

home-like environment. The Wellness Recovery Center is the only crisis stabilization unit in the Region Ten area. whereas the facilities and programs below are Health Planning Region 1 programs run by Region Ten. Click on Region Ten for more details.

Dual Recovery Center provides permanent supportive housing and services to homeless individuals in Charlottesville and the surrounding area who have serious mental illnesses and problems with alcohol and drug addiction. 

Fluvanna Counseling Center provides a variety of behavioral health and developmental services to the Fluvanna county area.

Friendly Oaks provides outpatient, crisis management, case management, and mental health support services in the Central Virginia region.

Greene Counseling Center provides a variety of behavioral health and developmental services in the Greene County area.

Horizon House Psychosocial rehabilitation and day-support services are provided to adults at differing stages of mental health recovery.83 Tanbark Plaza, Lovingston, VA

Louisa Counseling Center provides a variety of behavioral health and developmental services to the Louisa county area.

Meadowbrook Center is a center-based, community integration program that provides training, support and supervision to adults with intellectual disabilities. The program aims to help participants acquire, retain and/or improve their self-help, social and adaptive skills through person-centered planning, behavioral support and assistive technologies.  

Mohr Center  provides a 10-bed intensive residential treatment program for individuals recovering from addiction. The program is for men who need supervised drug-free housing while participating in treatment and living skills training at the Mohr Center.   

Nelson Counseling Center  provides a variety of behavioral health and developmental services to the Nelson county area.

Old Lynchburg Road  is the main campus for Region Ten Community Services Board. Along with housing executive and some senior staff, this campus is also home to our administrative functions, Wellness-Recovery program and many children’s programs.

Peer To Peer  (434-260-8127)  a unique, experiential learning program for people with any serious mental illness who are interested in their wellness and recovery. Peer to peer is  a 10-week class consisting of two-hour units, taught by a team of two trained "mentors" who are personally experienced at living well with mental illness.

Connection Support Groups  (434-260-8127) a 90-minute weekly support group run by those who live with mental illness. These groups provide a place that offers respect, understanding, encouragement, and hope. 

    

On Our Ow(434-979-2440) Several years ago, On Our Own's philosophy changed from a peer-run drop-in center to a peer-run recovery center. Now, they have a full-time executive director, a hospital liaison, …. They serve 50 people daily and are open seven hours a day, Sunday through Saturday.

In Our Own Voice  (434-260-8127) People with serious mental health conditions share their powerful personal stories in this free, 90-minute presentation.

Ending The Silence  (434 260-8127) During the 50-minute presentation, a young adult living with mental illness and a family member tell their stories about mental health challenges, including what hurt and what helped. Helps middle and high schoolers understand mental illness, teaching them about the warning signs. NAMI Ending the Silence helps raise awareness and change perceptions around mental health conditions. Through this free classroom presentation, students get to see the reality of living with a mental health condition.

Region Ten Rehabilitative Programs

Region Ten provides a complete list of recovery programs for the consumer. Region Ten Community Services Board is part of a statewide network of 40 Community Service Boards working to provide mental health, intellectual disability and substance use services where they are needed – in the local community. An agency of local government, Region Ten CSB is committed to serving the residents of the City of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson. The Haven 
a multi-resource day shelter for the homeless in downtown Charlottesville. The Haven has adopted a Housing First approach to ending homelessness. 112 West Market Street Charlottesville, VA
Thomas Jefferson Area Coalition For The Homeless 
TJACH works to reduce homelessness by initiating creative solutions and coordinating regional resourcesand services. TJACH is the HUD-designated coordinator of the Continuum of Care for this community, supporting system improvement and collaboration to ensure a secure safety net for the homeless and very poor.

On Our Own provides a number of programs including PATH (Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness,) WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan) IWP (Individual Well-Being Plan) and GOAL'S GROUP (Peer Support Group) that help people develop holistic plans for setting and achieving goals, and leading responsible, meaningful lives.

The Crossings
The Crossings represents Charlottesville's first permanent supportive housing for low-income and formerly homeless individuals.The Crossings is a true mixed-income community where individuals who have not experienced homelessness, but whose income falls below or is 50% of the area median income. 30 of the 60 units are dedicated to low income, and the other half are dedicated to homeless individuals who may need behavioral health services.

Charlottesville Provides crisis intervention through rendering emergency shelter and meals, clothing, educational and life skills programs, transportation, furniture, financial assistance, worship services, child care, youth programs and transitional housing.
